ICELDS Board Chair Dr. Hanna Vasilevich participates in the European Forum on Education, Language and Human Rights of Minorities. The forum takes place on 6-7 May 2019 in the European Parliament in Brussels.

Dr. Vasilevich spoke at the panel on Public policy objectives and practices for education in minority languages focusing on the policies of the Belarusian authorities towards national minorities in Belarus.

The forum is organised by the UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues and the Tom Lantos Institute. The event seeks to “provide regional insights for the development of a set of guidelines and recommendations focusing on education in, and teaching of, minority languages.”
