Alexander Osipov took part in two events in Berlin. On 14 June 2023, he contributed to the panel discussion “Nordic experiences of territorial autonomy and their global relevance – Islands of the North: Faroes, Greenland and Åland” organized by the Finland Institute in Berlin and the Åland Islands Peace Institute and held at Felleshus – Nordic Embassies cultural centre.

On 15 June 2023, he participated in the workshop “The Many Faces of Territorial Autonomy – Challenges and Trends” arranged by the Åland Islands Peace Institute and the Finland Institute in Berlin. Researchers discussed the core questions and concepts in the field, theoretical options, methodologies, tools, and resources used, the gaps in the study of territorial autonomy as well as the needs for further scholarly networking. Alexander Osipov made a presentation about post-Soviet territorial autonomies and potential approaches to the interpretation of their surprising durability.
